Every day at The Residences offers new ways to be inspired and enriched. Our residents have a joyous expectancy of good, and can choose from a variety of activities to support their individual journey.  The list below is a sampling of activities that were offered on the daily calendar this past year...

Off Campus

  • Weekly Brookline Pool visits, local shopping, church services

  • Weekly volunteering to read at local elementary school

  • Bi-monthly walks at Fisher Hill Reservoir Park, Jamaica Pond, Emerald Necklace, Brookline Reservoir, and more

  • Monthly local historical sites: Mt Auburn Cemetery, Frederick Law Olmstead Home, Eleanor Bradley Cabot Estate, Waterworks Museum, and others

  • Monthly: Free Concerts at Jordan Hall or Brookline Sunday Afternoon Concerts

  • Monthly: Newton Public Library

  • Quarterly: Local activities at the Mary Baker Eddy Library, The Christian Science Monitor, Christian Science Lectures, Longyear Museum

  • Quarterly: Harvard museums, Boston’s Museum of Science, Museum of Fine Arts, Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum

  • Seasonal:  First Night celebrations, Arnold Arboretum, Boston Harbor Ferry, summer street festivals, Shakespeare on the Common, Boston Pops concerts at the Esplanade, live theatre, fall harvest fests, The Metropolitan Opera in theaters,  Wellesley College talks, and more

  • Seasonal: Shopping & Lunch Days, Beach Day, Harbor Walk, North End, Plimoth Plantation, tea rooms

At Home

  • Weekly: Sunday Art Course, Monday Morning Music Program, Sentinel Radio, Rummy Cube, Chats with Executive Director, Monday Medley, Reading Aloud: Sermon on the Mount

  • Weekly Read & Discuss: Monitor, Friday Night News Review

  • Weekly: Tuesday BBC/Netflix Series, Thursday Night Series: Educational, Religious, Scientific,  Saturday night at the Movies

  • Bi-monthly:  Hymn Sing & Bell Ringing, Movement Class

  • Monthly: Monitor Forum with Ross Atkin

  • Quarterly: New England Conservatory Chapel Concerts

  • Seasonal:  Valentine’s Day card making, art classes, Brazier Fires, croquet games, Movie Al Fresco, Christmas Ornament Making, Christmas Pageant.
